Erudico ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use Erudico, our spaced-repetition learning web application available at erudico.org (the "Service").

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email Address: Used to sign in and to identify your account
• Password: Stored only as a securely hashed value; we never store your password in plain text

Study Data

To provide the spaced-repetition learning service, we store data about your reviews:

• Review Schedules: When each card is next due, based on your self-graded ratings (Again, Hard, Good, Easy)
• Review History: The cards you have studied and the ratings you gave them
• Deck Progress: Which decks you have started and your progress within them

Preferences

We store the settings you choose:

• Interface Language: The language you use the Service in
• Study Settings: Optional preferences such as the number of new cards per day, target retention, and your time zone
• Study Reminders (optional): If you turn on study reminders, we store your browser's push-notification subscription and the hour you chose to be reminded, so we can send a "cards due" notification. You can turn reminders off at any time in Settings.

Automatically Collected Information

Like most web services, our servers automatically record standard technical information (such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested) in server logs. We use these logs to operate the Service, diagnose problems, and keep it secure.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the Erudico Service
• Schedule your card reviews and track your learning progress
• Sign you in and keep your account secure
• Send study reminders, if you have opted in
• Diagnose problems, fix bugs, and improve the Service

Information Sharing and Disclosure

No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. Erudico has no public leaderboards, profiles, or social features, so your account and study data are never shown publicly.

Service Providers

We host the Service on third-party infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf and are bound by their contractual and confidentiality obligations. We do not use third-party advertising or ad-tracking services.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Erudico, our users, or others.

Data Storage and Security

Your account and study data are stored on our servers. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS)
• Passwords stored only as secure hashes
• Access controls and authentication

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Data Access

You can view your account and study progress at any time while signed in to the Service.

Data Correction

You can update your preferences and study settings directly in the app's Settings.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data yourself, immediately, from the delete-account page while signed in. Deletion is instant and permanent: your account, review schedules, and history are removed. If you need help, you can also contact us at support@erudico.org.

Children's Privacy

Erudico is designed for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately so we can delete the information.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. By using Erudico, you consent to such transfers.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service.

When you delete your account, your personal data is removed immediately, except where we are required to retain it for legal obligations.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.

Your continued use of Erudico after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
